House ME is located in the Viennese municipality district Langenzersdorf. A wine-growing area on the outskirts of the metropolis with a rural character. The challenge was to design a modern house, to combine the urban lifestyle of the customers with the rural environment. The location of the building in the middle of the property was determined by the consideration of the existing trees.

Another important aspect was to connect the garden with the living area, to zone the outside space. Spatial sequences are created that are continued in the interior and enable permeability to the orchard behind the building.

Characteristic of the house is the roof rising from the ground, which connects the garden level with the roof terrace and the large orchard behind the building. From the roof terrace a distant view of the hilly landscape of the surrounding area is possible. The 1 to 2 story building consists of clay walls and a wooden roof, whereby these ecological materials enable a very pleasant room climate.
